bex kolins (they/them) has been supporting currently and formerly incarcerated people for close to fifteen years. Through relationships with incarcerated people, bex determined that becoming a lawyer allowed them to better care for and advocate for people in prison. Their work is largely informed by relationships with people in prison and understanding that those inside should be the driving force behind their own advocacy.
In 2021, they graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Over the years, they have successfully assisted prisoners and their loved ones in suing state prisons for sexual assault, failure to protect, excessive force, and deliberate indifference to medical care. bex fights tirelessly for their clients, dreaming of a world where directly impacted people are the champions of their own stories and no one is behind bars.
bex is admitted to the Bar of North Carolina, and while their admission to the DC Bar is pending, they are fully supervised by a member of the DC Bar.
